Environmental laws that Mr. Birkelund has worked with include, for example, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), California Coastal Act, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, California’s Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act), Freedom of Information Act, California’s Public Records Act, and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

Additionally, Mr. Birkelund has experience advising on future climate change regulations, alternative energy procurement, and buying and selling renewable energy credits (RECs).
